Policy Brief #44-v2 – Agroforestry policies in Spain

The AgroForAdapt and DigitAF projects have produced Policy Brief #44-v2 – Agroforestry policies in Spain. This brief updates a previous review of agroforestry-related policies in the Spanish CAP Strategic Plan.

It also adds sections on environmental policies beyond the CAP, including the Carbon Removal Certification Framework, the LULUCF Regulation, the Nature Restoration Regulation, the Nature Credits Communication, Spain's National Energy and Climate Plan, and selected Regional Climate Adaptation Strategies. It also benefits from responses to a survey sent to agroforestry stakeholders in October 2025 and the outcomes of the 4th meeting of AgroForAdapt External Advisory Board held in November 2025. Twenty recommendations for action are presented for consideration by the national and regional administrations.
