Introducing AgroForAdapt’s monitoring protocols
We have recently delivered the monitoring protocols that we are using to assess the effect of demonstrative agroforestry systems on multiple indicators and ecosystem services, especially those related to climate change adaptation capacity. We have emphasized:
a) Productive aspects and carbon balance (action D2)
b) Vulnerability to wildfires in forests where silvopastoralism is incorporated (D3)
c) Effects on the microclimate (aerial and soil) and physiology (D4)
d) Effects on the biodiversity of fauna and flora (D5) The D2-D4 protocols have been prepared separately for silvoarable and open silvopastoral systems (link) and for forest silvopastoral systems (link), while protocol D5 has been prepared in a single document (link).
