Galanos Family Farm
The livestock unit of the Galanos family is located at a subalpine altitude in spruce forests and utilizes spruce pastures and alpine pastures with movement and selection in the cycle of time, with traditional practices that have been maintained for centuries. It maintains a small number of sheep of Greek breeds up to 100, applying a circular economy, both in storing fodder for winter and in processing milk using traditional practices.
At an altitude of over 1000 meters healthy cold coniferous forests and silvopastoral systems provide pasture and shelter for sheep flocks and rich biodiversity.The mountain Tymfristos is a NATURA2000 network region.The pasture is of high nutritional value as it is rich in herbs, aromatic plants and endemic plants.
